Board of Directors Nominations

Did you know that there are over 3,000 Columbia alumni in the South Florida region, and that over 700 alumni have interacted with our club in the last two years? In recent years, we have held more events and engaged more alumni than ever before. To make it all happen, we need a strong Board of Directors to lead the charge. 

Our current Board of Directors recently took our club to the next level by adopting official Bylaws. These Bylaws help define our club's structure, membership, leadership, and also help bring us to a higher level of recognition by the University and among our fellow Columbia alumni clubs around the world. 

Part of our new Bylaws call for a nomination and election process for the Board of Directors. From April 16-30, 2015, we will be accepting nominations for Board membership. You can nominate yourself, or a fellow club member. After all nominations are compiled, there will be an online election held in early June.  

We invite all Club members (Columbia alumni, students, and their parents) to take part in the nomination and election process!

- Vice President (2 year term)
- Secretary (1 year term*)
- Treasurer (1 year term*)
- Chair for Membership (2 year term)
- Chair for Career Advancement and Networking (1 year term*)
- Chair for Community and Events (2 year term)
- Chair for Recent Alumni (2 year term)
- Chair for External Affairs (1 year term*)
*Board terms are generally two years, but since we want approximately half of the board to be elected each year, there are some one-year terms in this first election.
