The Queen of Basel is an explosive, only-in-Miami story of power, class, and desire. Hilary Bettis, one of America’s hottest young playwrights and a writer on the FX hit series The Americans, revamps Strindberg’s classic Miss Julie for the present day. Set during Miami’s famous Art Week at a luxurious hotel, Julie, the owner’s glamorous but spoiled daughter gets entangled with Christine, a waitress fleeing violence in Venezuela and Christine's Afro-Cuban fiancé pursuing the American dream.
