From Michel Hausman to the Club:
"It is about the night Cassius Clay beat Sonny Liston at the convention center in February 1964 - The beach was still segregated at the time, and so Clay celebrated with his three best friends: Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown, across the bridge at the Hampton House... it was a pivotal night for all of them, especially for Clay who emerged the next morning as Muhammad Ali.
The play is very timely, and it deals with social justice and civil rights.
This is our first show with support from commercial producers who want to take our production to Broadway, so the quality of our set, our cast (Leon Thomas, a Grammy award musician playing Sam Cooke!) is just spectacular."
