Our tickets this year are in the Baseline Reserved Section 23. This annual event has drawn over 100 attendees in prior years, and we hope it will be a great gathering again in 2017!

    We invite everyone to join us for an informal mix and mingle prior to the game.

    Ticket Price: $22.50 (Children 36 months and under are free)

    Gates Open
    11:30am - Pre-game reception area with cash bar opens. Located near Outfield Section 34.
    12:15pm - Welcome from Columbia Club of South Florida board leadership.
    1:10pm - First pitch

    Suggested parking: Third Base Garage. This can be purchased in advance at www.marlins.com/parking

    Deadline to purchase tickets is Wednesday, August 9.

    Below, you will see an option to donate an additional $2 per ticket to the Columbia Club of South Florida. These donations help us subsidize events and programming for our members throughout the year. Your contributions are not tax deductible, but are appreciated.

    Health Reform: What Happened and What Happens Next?

    The Columbia University Club of South Florida is proud to welcome Dr. Michael S. Sparer, Professor and Chair in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University to Miami on June 9, 2017.

    One of the foremost experts in healthcare reform, Dr. Sparer will share his views, exclusive to club members, alumni and invited guests about how healthcare may fundamentally change in the coming years, and how we can best understand and influence the outcome.

Sparer, PhD, JD: Professor Sparer studies and writes about the politics of healthcare, with a particular emphasis on the health insurance and health delivery systems for low-income populations, and the ways in which inter-governmental relations influences policy. He is a two-time winner of the school's Student Government Association Teacher of the Year Award, as well as the recipient of the 2010 Presidential Award for Outstanding Teaching. Professor Sparer spent seven years as a litigator for the New York City Law Department, specializing in inter-governmental social welfare litigation. After leaving the practice of law, Sparer obtained a PhD in Political Science from Brandeis University. Sparer is the editor of the Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law, and the author of Medicaid and the Limits of State Health Reform, as well as numerous articles and book chapters.

    Please join us to watch the top-ranked WTA and ATP players in the world, as they bring their hard-hitting, electrifying game of tennis to the Miami Open, a global event featuring players from 37 countries. The Miami Open is more than just tennis; it’s a total entertainment experience. High fashion, fine food, fabulous shopping and celebrity musical performances have made the tournament the most glamorous event on the WTA & ATP World Tours for over 30 years.


    Match play will begin at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 29th, as the gates will open at 5:00 pm for the evening session. To mark the event, we've arranged a special group rate for our alumni groups.  


    Meeting Place: Starting at 5:00 pm join our group at the Stella Artois Center Court Lounge for pre-match drinks. Wear your school colors to show your pride!

    5:00 pm: Gates Open for Evening Session; enjoy any outer court matches
    7:00 – 10:30 pm:Men’s & Women’s Single Quarterfinals & Doubles Quarterfinals

    • If tickets are ordered in a single transaction, please specify the names of the individuals picking up the tickets by Monday, March 27th.

    • Anyone without a proper ID, or who is not on the purchaser (or pick-up) list will be turned away at the box office.

    Join fellow alums for our annual outing to the Miami Heat as they battle the Atlanta Hawks! Get your tickets soon, as this event usually sells out fast.

(Check out the seating chart prior to purchasing - 400-Level seats are closer to the court, but on the baseline; while the 300-Level seats are higher up, but on the sideline).

    Columbia alums and guests are invited to gather for informal networking prior to the game near the Carnival Red Frog Rum Bar near the entrance to section 415. (There will not be a marked area, but alumni club leaders will be wearing identifiable Columbia gear).
