Join us for an evening of film and food on Calle Ocho. We will be viewing Eye in the Sky at the Tower Theater. Eye in the Sky is a 2015 British thriller film starring Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul, Alan Rickman, and Barkhad Abdi. The showing will be preceded by a conversation with the film director, Gavin Hood.
The movie starts at 6:30 p.m. Betty Charles will be in front of the theater from 6:00 to 6:15 p.m. with your tickets. If you arrive after that time frame, please text her at 786-314-9098. After the movie, let's all gather for a la carte food and drink at Versailles Restaurant.
Movie Sypnosis: A British citizen has joined the Somali terrorist group Al Shabab. From a high-tech control room, Col. Katherine Powell (Oscar-winner Helen Mirren) guides field operative Jama (Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi of Captain Phillips) to gather intel that will enable capture and arrest. When Jama reports the high probability of an imminent suicide bombing, Powell confers with her immediate superior, Lt. Gen. Benson (the late, great Alan Rickman, in his final on-screen role), whose approval she requires to strike—and whose duty it is to determine if the inevitable civilian casualties constitute acceptable collateral damage.
